Short description in English:
Since 2006 I'm a PhD student in Media and Communication Studies here at K3 Malmö University and in collaboration with the University of Karlstad. The dissertation project is about critical transitions in media art practice considering the relation between alternative local media practices and artistic appropriations of such practices.
The project takes a look at two cases relevant to this context: the artist run local-TV channel tv-tv in Copenhagen and the nomadic media-archaeological festival The Art of the Overhead. The study looks at the appropriation of these media (TV / OH) by two artistic communities according to a hypothetical framework of "institution, dissolution and resolution", as hypothetical figures for understanding how contemporary media art practice reconfigure the histories of institutionalized media forms, and how this relates to similar movements within digital media culture in general, where boundaries between art and the everyday are increasingly blurred.
